Privacy Policy

General

Helpbook.us LLC (“Helpbook.us,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is committed to respecting the privacy rights and concerns of all users (“users,” “you”) of our Web sites, software and services (collectively the “Helpbook.us Product Suite”). As such, we have established and implemented this “Privacy Policy” to inform clients and consumers how we use and protect the information we collect. If you have any questions regarding this information or our privacy practices, please see the section entitled “Questions and Comments” at the end of this Privacy Policy.

Information We Collect

General: When you register, and at other times during your use of the Helpbook.us Product Suite, we will collect personally identifiable information that you choose to provide to us such as your name, age, gender, e-mail address, credit-card number and facts about your experience, preferred format for information retrieval, and similar information.

Surveys: We may occasionally request information from users via surveys. These surveys are entirely voluntary and you may easily decline to participate. Survey information will be used for purposes of monitoring or improving the user experience and satisfaction of the Helpbook.us Product Suite.

Web Site/Product Usage Information: We automatically collect IP addresses and Web site usage information from you when you visit our Web sites. This information helps us evaluate how our users use and navigate our Web sites and web applications therein, including the number and frequency of visitors and consumers for each page, and the length of their visits.

Information From Children Under the Age of Thirteen: In conformance with the Federal Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), we do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under the age of 13 years that is submitted to us via the Internet. If you are under 13 years of age, please do not submit your personally identifiable information to us. If we become aware that we have inadvertently received personally identifiable information from a user under the age of thirteen, other than in a legally permissible situation, we will delete the information from our records as soon as it is discovered by us.

Cookies

We employ the use of cookies. Cookies are small bits of electronic information that a web site can transfer to a user’s hard drive to help tailor the user experience to the users’ preferences. The use of cookies is standard on the Internet and many web sites use them. Certain cookies, such as those required to retain settings you elect (e.g., user name, password, personalization preferences) will continue to reside on your hard drive for subsequent use by your browser. Even though most Web browsers automatically accept cookies, you can usually change your browser to prevent that or to notify you when you are sent a cookie. You may also clear any and all cookies from your hard drive any time you wish; simply search your system for any files named cookie*.* (or similar) and delete these at your discretion. However, deleting these cookies means any long-term settings (such as your stored User Name) will need to be reset. Additionally, some parts of the Helpbook.us Product Suite will not function properly if you refuse cookies.

How We Use Information Collected

We use information that you provide to us in order to provide you with specific services that you request and to provide you with additional services that we believe may be of interest to you. For instance, we may use your information in the following ways:

With Whom Do We Share the Information We Collect?

We may share your personally identifiable information with affiliates and third parties, including e-commerce partners, who assist us by providing services to users of the Helpbook.us Product Suite, including, but not limited to, credit card processing, fulfillment and shipping, database management, e-mail distribution, and website management. We also partner with third parties to provide advertisements to users through the Helpbook.us Product Suite and to manage our advertising programs. We have to provide these third parties participants’ information so they may administer the advertisements. If you have “opted in” to participate and receive free content from Helpbook.us media providers, we will provide your email address or other required personal information to these third parties for such purposes. From time to time, we may also share personally identifiable information with third parties whose products and services we believe may be of interest to you.

In the unlikely event that all or substantially all of our assets relating to the Helpbook.us Product Suite are sold or transferred to another party, your personally identifiable information may be transferred to this acquiring entity. Finally, we may disclose your personally identifiable information to third parties in order to comply with law, law enforcement agencies, to protect our rights in or the safety of our Web site, or to protect the safety or rights of other users of our Web sites.

Opting Out and Updating or Changing Personal Information

When we send you a communication, we give you the opportunity to opt out of receiving future communications from us. Additionally, to have your personal information removed from our database, or to update or modify your details, or request that we not send you any future communications, simply go to www.helpbook.us, and send us an email under contact us. After receiving your request, we will make all reasonable efforts to make the appropriate changes to our database. However, certain archival information may be difficult or impossible to locate and/or remove. We reserve the right to retain such information.

Helpbook.us participates in the TACODA Audience Networks (“TAN”) , whereby TACODA collects information from users that visit our Web sites and displays online advertisements to users on such Web sites. To opt-out of TAN, please visit http://www.networkadvertising.org.

California Residents: Users who reside in California and have provided personally identifiable information to us may request information about our disclosure of certain categories of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. Such requests must be submitted to us at one of the following addresses: Helpbook.us LLC, Customer Service or info@helpbook.us. Within thirty days of receiving such a request, we will provide a list of the categories of personal information disclosed to third parties for third-party direct marketing purposes during the immediately preceding calendar year, along with the names and addresses of the third parties that received the personally identifiable information.

Third Party Links and Co-brand Relationships

In an attempt to provide increased value to our users, we may choose various third party web sites to link to, and frame within, the Helpbook.us Product Suite. We also participate in co-branding and other relationships to offer e-commerce and other services and features to our users. Even if the third party is affiliated with us, we have no control over these linked sites, each of which has separate privacy and data collection practices independent of us. Data collected by our co-brand partners or third party web sites (even if offered on or through our site) is not received by us. As such, we have no responsibility or liability for these independent policies or actions, and are not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of any such web sites. These linked sites are only for your convenience and you therefore access them at your own risk. Nonetheless, we seek to protect the integrity of the Helpbook.us Product Suite and the links placed upon each of them and therefore request any feedback on not only the Helpbook.us Product Suite, but for sites each links to as well (including if a specific link does not work).

Public Forums

Our websites may feature message boards, chat rooms or other forums that provide you with an opportunity to post information that is publicly displayed. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any information posted in a public forum by you.

Security

We implement a variety of security measures to ensure the security of your personal information on our systems. User information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of employees who have special access rights to such systems. Any sensitive/credit information you supply us is transmitted and protected via Secure Socket Layer technology (“SSL”) and HTTPS protocol and then encrypted into our databases to be accessed only as stated above. Notwithstanding our efforts to protect your information, no security system is completely impenetrable, so we cannot guarantee the absolute security of our databases, nor can we guarantee that information you supply to us will not be intercepted while in transit to us over the Internet.

Policy Changes

By visiting the site or using any part of the Helpbook.us Product Suite, you consent to the collection and use of information by us as set forth in this Privacy Policy. If we decide to make a change to this Privacy Policy, such change will be reflected herein and the last date on which the Privacy Policy was updated will be listed below.
